Built-up letters are individual 3D letters, cut from a solid material and fixed to a fascia or wall so they stand proud of the surface. They give a shop front or reception wall more depth than flat vinyl lettering and read clearly from a distance. Magenta Signs makes and fits built-up letter signs from our workshop in Rossington, Doncaster.

Gold built-up letters on the TAD Nutrition fascia, made and fitted by Magenta Signs

Recent job: TAD Nutrition

For TAD Nutrition we produced gold built-up letters mounted on a dark fascia panel above the unit entrance. Because the letters stand off the panel, they pick up the light and read clearly across the car park.

Where built-up letters work well

Illuminated or non-illuminated

Built-up letters can be left unlit or illuminated. Lighting changes the planning position: many non-illuminated signs on business premises are allowed without applying for consent within set limits, but illuminated signs have stricter rules. Read our guide to advertisement consent for shop signs before you order.

How we work

  1. Send us a photo of the building, your logo and rough measurements.
  2. We design the lettering to scale on a photo of your frontage.
  3. Letters are made in our Rossington workshop.
  4. Our team fits them on site.
